To see if there was a big difference, we decided to test out a few different flower delivery companies and set out to find out how it went – from ordering, arrival and longevity.

- Every day we topped off the water, but no flower food was used.

The last thing that comes to mind when you think about Costco is probably flowers.
Via the floral section on Costco’s website you’ll find anything from bulk flowers and vase arrangements all the way to plants and wedding/event flowers.
Best of all, when shopping for their farm fresh flowers online, their pricing is clear and concise. What you see is what you pay meaning there are no shipping or handling fees tacked on at checkout which is fantastic.
And unlike most if not all the flower delivery companies listed here, you can actually pick up some fresh flower arrangements and bouquets in-store.

Probably the biggest name in flower delivery is 1-800-Flowers.com.
Honestly whatever you’re looking for, they’ll have it.
Whether if you need flowers for certain occasions, nice plants for your home or office or even gift baskets and food, they have.
They’re basically a gift giving shop that specializes in flowers.
And they even offer same day delivery which is so important at certain times.
Now it’s not all sunshine and rainbows with them however as some customers have been receiving flowers that look nothing as advertised.
The reality is sometimes bleak. It’s a hit or miss.

13. Amazon
What doesn’t Amazon sell? Honestly?
On Amazon, you can browse and order fresh cut flower arrangements that’ll get to you in a couple business days free of charge.
Now I must say with Amazon flowers, it’s honestly a hit and miss.
Some deliveries come in amazing, while others are not as advertised or come damaged (vases in particular).
So like what most people do on Amazon, check out those reviews on all their flower bouquets to see if anything seems appealing and worth rolling the dice.
But knowing Amazon, they’ll eventually step their flower game up.

Flower Delivery Service Reviews + Results
Here’s how our 5 day testing went for each major rose delivery company.
But before we jump to the results, let me mention the one company that has unconventional roses that last up to 365 days without water – Venus et Fleur. They’re pricey, but so cool. So they are also a great option in terms of roses.
1. BloomsyBox
Results: This website sells both flower subscription boxes and non-subscription flowers arrangements.
The site was pretty straightforward and they had the cheapest of all shipping fees of the flowers that we reviewed in our test at $9.99 .
Receiving the BloomsyBox roses on Day 1, they looked healthy and the colors were vibrant. The heads were large and petals looked healthy, not withered. The stems were thick and the leaves looked shiny and dark green.
Unique coloring, healthy petals, and very large head size on the pink roses; in general they had large head sizes, consistent open rate, and frilled petals.
On Day 5, BloomsyBox roses looked fresh and were still opening up. The leaves still looked healthy and the petals didn’t droop.

2. 1-800 Flowers
Results: This site had a lot of options from flowers, plants, gift baskets, and even food. On the last purchase page, they tacked on a $14.99 service fee.
1-800-Flowers’ roses arrived in pretty good condition. But by Day 2 they were already open to the point that the petals looked like they were about to fall off.
Also, there was not consistency in the bouquet–some had small head sizes, some had large. For example, the pink rose had a very small head size compared to the other roses. Some were already open, some not.
Some consistency in size would’ve been nice.
On Day 5, 1-800-Flowers’ roses were dead.

3. ProFlowers
Results: The website design was very nice and once you checked out they added $12.99 fee.
ProFlowers’ roses arrived already opened on Day 1.
Just like 1-800-Flowers, the head sizes and extent as to how much the roses were opened were not consistent.
On Day 3, ProFlowers’ roses were noticeably withering, dehydrated and drooping. Some of the roses were barely opened, while the majority of them were fully opened and petals appeared to be on the verge of falling.
By Day 5, all but 3 were completely dead.

4. FTD
Results: The site design was a little dated looking and at checkout they added a hefty $17.99 service fee.
FTD’s roses arrived in bad condition right from the start, with skinny stems, damaged heads, and dry leaves.
Some of the roses were already opened and their heads were drooping, while others had extremely small head sizes and were still in bud form. Some had damage and one had a weird blue spot.
When placing them in a vase, this stood out even more as the small roses were next to the large, opened roses.
The inconsistency of the FTD bouquet was even more noticeable as time went on. The small roses were still barely opened while many of the others were drooping.
By Day 5, FTD was also wilting. While some roses were fully in bloom but on the verge of being at their end, others were completely dying. The leaves were dried up and shriveled.
