Writing for Urban Tastebud is a fun and engaging opportunity that you will absolutely love.
If you’ve never used Worpdress before, here’s how you write and publish your first blog post:
To write a post:
- Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
- Click the ‘Posts‘ tab.
- Click the ‘Add New‘ sub-tab.
- Start filling in the blanks: enter your post title in the upper field, and enter your post body content in the main post editing box below it.
- As needed, select a category, add tags, and make other selections from the sections below the post. (Each of these sections is explained below.)
- When you are ready, click Publish.
Now that we got through this, let’s shift focus to formatting your blog post.
Now although we are truly open for you to get your creative juices flowing and write some pretty epic articles, there are a few things that we do require you to follow especially when it comes to formatting and organizing your blog posts.
Here’s how your article should be organized and formatted.
Title [Heading 1]
Byline (Introduce yourself while also including a link to your blog, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) [italics]
Introduction (Give a short yet informative intro about what you are about to write about including a link to your blog, company, Instagram, etc.) [paragraph]
1. First Subject [Heading 2]
< Make sure the image alignment is set to “Align None” and the links are set to “Open in New Window” Also, for the caption, write the name of the source of the image which is typically the website name, then add a link back to the image source)>
Information about the first subject with any appropriate hyperlinks if necessary. [paragraph]

Repeat everything in #1 until you complete your list.

Other Blog Post Formats
If your blog posts doesn’t fit the theme or format above then feel free to write however you wish, especially if your article doesn’t involve any lists or numbered type blog posts.
Although we publish primarily list types of posts, feel free to include personal stories and experiences.
Just make sure that the blog post provides value to the reader. That’s the number one goal!
A Few Closing Remarks
If you have a recipe(s) or product(s) that fits in your article feel free to add it to give yourself some exposure.
Just don’t go overboard 🙂
