I remember years ago I was watching Shark Tank and I saw these guys pitching a beach towel that never got sand on it and I was pretty blown away.
However, since I rarely visited beaches then, I didn’t think much of it.
That all changed when one day I saw an Instagram ad about a Disney-printed beach towel that immediately got me hooked. So, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a couple of these Disney-themed Sand Cloud towels.
And the timing couldn’t have been more perfect because just a couple weeks later, I would be able to test them at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
So with that being said, here’s a quick, in-depth review of Disney X Sand Cloud towels, as well my personal thoughts after using them for a week.

Overview of Sand Cloud
Sand Cloud, featured on Shark Tank in 2017, is a beach-towel company that sells premium, sand-resistant, ultra-absorbent Turkish cotton towels.
Their most popular and by far most innovative product is their sand-resistant beach towel made with Turkish cotton that becomes softer and more absorbent with every wash. And with every beach towel, sand essentially falls right off the towel when shaken.
But the coolest part of Sand Cloud, besides their partnership with Disney, is that they donate 10% of their profits toward marine conservation.
Currently, organizations that they support and donate profits to include:
- Coral Restoration Foundation
- Global Penguin Society
- Hawaii Wildlife Fund
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center
- MarAlliance
- Marine Conservation Institute
- Marine Mammal Care Center
- Ocean Connectors
- Pacific Marine Mammal Center
- Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds
- San Diego Coastkeeper
- Seal Rescue
- Surfrider Foundation
- Sea Shepherd
- Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center
- Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center
- Yellow-Eyed Penguin Trust
Sand Cloud has also partnered with Disney by featuring Disney-themed beach towels that features beautiful subtle and in-your-face Disney designs, most of which consist of Mickey and Minnie Ears.
How much are Disney Sand Cloud towels?
Sand Cloud X Disney towels cost $52 for their smallest towel (37″ x 67″), $72 for their medium towel (51″ x 67″), and $78 for their extra large square towel (72″ x 76″).
Are there any Disney Sand Cloud discounts?
Although there are coupons and seasonal sales that offer discounted towels from their normal product offerings, all of the products in the Disney collection are excluded from all promotions.
The only discount you can get on any Disney Sand Cloud product is when you purchase their Disney Mickey Minnie Bundle that consists of 5 towels for $249 instead of $260, saving you about $11. To be honest, I don’t think that’s worth it, especially if you can’t pick and choose which 5 towels you want.
Disney X Sand Cloud Review
I never imagined that I would pay $52 for a beach towel, but since I am pretty obsessed with Disney, I figured I’d give these a try on my next beach trip.
I decided to purchase two of their smallest Disney Sand Cloud towels to test out on my trip to Hawaii.
Here’s how it went:
The towels were pretty compact and packable, so I was able to squeeze both into my carry-on before unraveling them at the hotel.
I went with the Disney Minnie Painted Diamond pattern while my wife chose the Mickey Mickey Date.
When using them on the grass, these were pretty nice. Very soft and very light. A little too light since the breeze would lift them up sometime.
But other than that, these were pretty nice to sit on, relax, and take in the views while enjoying some good Aulani eats.
Next up was trying them as true beach towels.
Even after lying on them after snorkeling in the ocean, I was able to give them a quick shake and there was honestly no sand to the point I immediately started drying my body off without any sand rubbing on to me. That was pretty impressive.
Is a Disney Sand Cloud towel worth it?
If you frequent the beach often and want a nice, premium, sand-resistant towel with a cool Disney design, then I 100% recommend you try it. The fact that sand just flies off this thing, while also being ultra-absorbent makes it worth the $50+ investment.
This Sand Cloud towel is so versatile that it may have ruined all other beach towels for me from now on.
