    Gluten Free Ham Listing

Did you know that ham isn’t always the safest meat on the gluten free diet.

This is usually due to the fact that some of the glazes on the ham contain gluten, or worse, some of the ham itself can be subject to cross contamination during processing.

Thankfully, most ham companies are willing to tell consumers whether or not their meat is gluten free. Better, some companies like Dietz and Watson and Jones Dairy Farm actually produce certified gluten free ham.

But no matter what, it’s always best for you as the consumer to always double check the labels first, just to ensure that the ham you’re about to eat and buy is completely safe to eat.

      How about Columbus brand meats?

And Kentucky Bourbon (I think that’s the brand name) hams?

It’s Kentucky Legend. Some of their labels say GF and some don’t. I assume the labels that do not say it, mean that there is gluten in them.

I have been glutened MANY times by ham. Thank you so much for sharing this info so that others are aware. It is so sad that gluten is in sooo many things even items that you would never expect. i might take a chance & try Dietz and Watson since they say they are certified otherwise I have just stopped eating it even though I always liked ham. Thanks for all you do to help us bothered by gluten.

We need more restaurants to have gluten free products. We also need bakery like flowers, colonial to produce more breads without gluten. Subway to introduce gluten free breads. We also need our school cafeterias to offer gluten free products because we have children that aren’t able to eat gluten products .

My biggest concern with eating places that advertise “gluten free” is CROSS CONTAMINATION!! Many restaurants and fast foods places are beginning to offer “gluten-free”, but from what I’ve seen, they know nothing about cross contamination. For instance, at the Subway in our little city, they offer a gluten-free roll, HOWEVER, they either use the same gloves for picking up the sandwich fillings that they previously used for their own wheat roll OR they may change their gloves BUT use the same fillings that other people have touch with contaminated gloves. One of our pizza places offers a gluten-free pizza crust, and then transfers the pizza to the oven on the SAME WOOD BOARD as other pizzas. What to do…what to do!!
