    Gluten Free Starbucks

NOTE: This information can change at any time so always be sure to ask your barista about their gluten free options before ordering.

Starbucks is one of the most gluten free friendly coffee shops in the nation.

Now although Starbucks may have an abundance of cross contamination when it comes to blended drinks, there are quite a few options that you can enjoy especially if you like your drinks plain (ie. hot/iced coffee, espresso shots, etc).

Now there are a few thinks to remember like skipping on any crumbles or toppings like java chips, but we’ll get into the nitty gritting in a just a second.

So with that being said, here’s everything at Starbucks that’s gluten free.

Wrong!!! I have legit been handed the bag by the worker and no gluten. Also I am severely intolerant and it’s the only drink I get. Vanilla bean frapp with no base and add cold brew. 5 instead of 3 scoops of vanilla bean

Do you also “feel” like there is gluten in Starbucks? Can’t tell if it’s diabetes or gluten /:

Great info! But I don’t see anything online or in the ingredients that indicate that the caramel is not gluten free. Can you look into this and possibly update?

The vanilla bean drinks (due to the powder) and macchiatos aren’t gluten free, so avoid if you’re a celiac.

Hi, I’m celiac too, and i have starbucks all the time but no issues. I promise u that starbucks is very careful and you do not have to freak out. I think that this client may have had other issues, because my celiac is extremely severe, and I have never had any problems with starbucks 🙂

My dietician actually told me to stay away from Starbucks as they do not guarantee anything on their menu regarding allergies. She had a Celiac client who didn’t give up her daily Starbucks drink and was still dealing with all the issues. Once she gave it up, she started to feel better. Basically, plain coffee and no syrups. Flavored coffees have “natural flavors” which are potential hidden gluten traps as well.

I was told none of the hot drinks were gluten free do to cross contamination.
I aslo don’t get why the Carmel sauce isn’t gluten free. I looked at ingredients looks safe. Is it due to manufacturing equipment?

Oats are technically not safe for coeliacs. You’re only meant to eat oats if you’ve had a gastroscopy after undertaking the oat challenge, because the form of gluten in them is unsafe for 1 in 10 coeliacs. And you can only have certified GF oats such as Red Mill. The US is pretty slack when it comes to oats and GF, but I’m Australia where I’m from we take it seriously :”) I hope this helps!
