it’s super easy to make your own tomato soup! you just need a small can of tomato sauce, 3/4 of that same can of water, a couple tablespoons of cream and either a teaspoon or so of sugar or as I make it (in ode to marcella hazan’s famous marinara), a tablespoon or so of butter. add salt and pepper or whatever spices you might like.
this is really sooooo good. I was despondent when I found out I couldn’t have campbell’s anymore, but this is way, way better. I hope someone tries it and likes it.

That’s such a great alternative. Thanks for sharing, Elise!

Those are some great ideas. Before I had to give up gluten, I just tended to have simple things like a sandwich and tomato soup. But since I’ve yet to find a GF tomato soup I like, I just tend to skip lunch.
That said, I may be making another run to a Red Robin in a city about 30 minutes from me. You can buy the frozen buns for about a dollar each and then take them home to freeze them. They’re amazing!

I should have clarified … I don’t like gluten-free breads, so having the buns on hand will open up the options for lunch again. Just without the soup.
