I have severe celiac and Crohn’s. I drink Starbucks with no issue whatsoever. Some people need to learn the difference between gluten and glucose. However, I believe it’s a person to person thing so if you get sick then by all means don’t drink it.

okay, ignore me, go off that PDF above, apparently the caramel macchiato is not gluten free like I had said it was. Thanks to that person for posting the PDF. But the point remains…this page’s post should be removed.

I agree! Starbucks nutritional and allergen info listed on their website contradicts the info in this blog! I have gotten sick on their pumpkin spice sauce.

Just the price of a single cup is enough to cause pain and discomfort without even considering consumption.

I don’t go to Starbucks at all. I am gluten free, dairy free and soy free. They offer me nothing.

A lot of plac s serve coconut milk now. You could try a green tea, no classic syrup, with coconut milk.

Having worked at Starbucks, I have read the ingredients list and it’s true that the sauces (caramel and hazelnut) contain gluten. For those with celiac disease, we should avoid cross-contamination at all costs. Each time we have gluten, it eats away at our small intestine – putting holes in it. As a result, out bodies do not process proper nutrients properly.

I got sick off a coffee at SB, while I was traveling. Really wasn’t worth it. I haven’t been in a Starbucks since with the exception of one time, with a friend. I didn’t order anything. The cashier kept asking me if I was ordering. Finally after saying no multiple times I said I was GF, she said oh. Well, you might be able to have one of these fruit and nut bars but you’re right, you can’t have ANYTHING. Nuff said!

Cross contamination from which item?? If you are saying “Everything w/ a sauce base ISNT GF” then you could only drink Water practically bc ALL or MOST drinks are made from syrup.. Like ANY POP.

unbelievable ignorance. Carmel is sugar and water. no gluten. you are confusing gluten and glucose

I get what you’re saying, but Starbucks had caramel listed as a gluten containing ingredient on their website. Just because something SHOULD be gluten free doesn’t mean it is. (Like Rice Krispies, which uses a derivative of barley as a sweetener.) Nobody was confusing the two; they were going off of previous Starbucks info.

I agree with the others. Starbucks is very far from being GF. If you ask them at the store, they will clearly state that nothing is safe to drink unless you get a bottled non Starbucks drink that states its GF. You will get sick from the most basic cup of black ground coffee due to gluten! Most known ground coffee brands are in the same boat. Very few are GF.

No, actually I am very highly allergic to gluten, and I have tried most of these drinks. Unlike most of you if it is light cross contamination you wouldn’t no but I would bc I have type 1 and by blood sugar would show it and I have had great experiences!

They have the info listed on their nutritional info and caramel and frappacinos both have gluten in them.
